Firstly, a very warm welcome to this week’s new subscribers.
I’ve recently started sharing some photos and brief updates via Notes and it seems that people are liking what they see over there, taking the time to have a scroll over here and, pressing that subscribe button. Thank you and welcome one and all!
There has been a lot going on this week - some things great, some things good, other things not ideal and as I’ve only just got back from a day at the exhibition I wrote about last week, I’m going to cut myself a little slack this evening and share a couple of snapshots from the exhibition and from inside the neighbouring Tithe Barn in Bradford-on-Avon. I saw quilt blocks in the architecture and stitch motifs in the walls - lots of potential for future textile collage, quilts and drawings.
Normal service should, in theory, resume next Sunday.
Stitch detail, landscape collage
Coiled textile bowls with ‘cutting patch’ quilt
‘cutting patch’ and ‘no mow may’ garden grass
River Avon view from the lunch break bench
seeing quilt blocks in the tithe barn
and motifs in the walls
floral gallery shadows and evidence of canine visitors
As ever, thank you for taking the time to read my words, or in today’s case, admire my photo album. Your likes, comments and shares are very much appreciated.
As I mentioned last week, I’m pondering future possibilities and ways to extend what I offer here - maybe online tutorials and/or monthly, more detailed posts about specific techniques and textile-related resources. If either of these options interest you or you have any suggestions for subjects or topics, please drop me a line in the comments.
In the meantime, have a great week.
